2004 elections - U.S. Senate, Illinois

Jerry Kohn -- Libertarian

Born and raised in Illinois, Jerry Kohn, 43, is a high school political science and economics teacher in Oak Lawn and a library board member in Oak Forest. A graduate of Northwestern University, Kohn also holds a master's degree in political and justice studies from Governors State University. He also ran for state representative of the 28th district in 2002.

Kohn, who is married with no children, would work to abolish the federal income tax and cutting federal spending. He is pro-life, and he believes that removing American troops from stations across the globe would ease anti-American sentiment that has lead to terrorism.
